Porcelain Patio

What was done

In Attleborough we created a marble-style porcelain patio finished with a pendant grey block border, using a sweeping curve to separate the paved area from the rest of the garden. The before photos show the plot stripped back to bare earth and rotavated, with the ground prepared from scratch. Alongside the paving we laid new turf to give an instant lawn, and built oak sleeper retainers to hold back the neighbouring garden levels. The curved block edge follows the line of the lawn to give a clean division between hard and soft landscaping.

The finished look

The pale marble-effect porcelain has a smooth, reflective surface that brightens the space and works neatly with the home's grey bifold and French doors. The darker block border traces the gentle curve where the paving meets the freshly laid turf, softening the transition between patio and lawn. With the new grass established and the sleeper retainers tidying the boundaries, it makes for a family-friendly garden that is easy to maintain and pleasant to relax or play in.
